Polish Home Expansion Project
Construction starts now!

(Polska wersja)

Dear Friends of the Polish Home in Seattle,

Our longtime dreams and efforts are coming true – the construction of the Polish Home extension starts in July 2008! Your support for this project is appreciated!

The PHA Board of Trustees decided to build a “shell” variant of the extension project this summer. The shell variant includes: the complete building structure under the roof, fully enclosed exterior including doors, windows and siding and a functioning elevator. The second and the third floor of the extension will be left unfinished. The shell variant cost is $460,000.

Since 2005, our fundraising campaign has received $410,000 in pledges to the project, including $69,000 in professional service pledges. So far $260,000 cash has been received in donations and income from fundraising events and bank interest. We spent $50,000, mostly on the parking lot extension and permits. Cash balance is $210,000. In addition we have $50,000 in reserves.

To finance the remaining balance for the shell variant, the Board has decided to use a private line of credit from Mr. and Mrs. Ron & Martha Golubiec. This line of credit is a non-collateral loan – there is no lien on the Polish Home property. It can provide the cash as needed up to $200,000. The loan is to be paid in 5 years and the interest rate is the same as the Merrill Lynch variable equity rate (currently 4%). Available cash and reserves, as well as cash from new donations will be used before drawing on the line of credit. The Board expects to pay off the debt through fundraising within the next 3 to 5 years.

This is it! We need your support now – vote with your wallets for the new Polish Home! If you haven’t supported the project yet, now is the time: please write a check or submit a pledge. If you have already done so, please convince others to support the project! If you have ideas how to raise more funds, please let us know. Please donate to the project now!

To donate, please write a check to Polish Home Foundation and send it to the Polish Home address above. Donations to PHF are tax deductible.

Our new Polish Home will be the best Polish cultural center on the west coast. We are proud of what we are creating for our community and Poland and we have popular support behind us. Please be part of this fantastic effort!

Thank you for all your support!
